Khu công nghệ cao TPHCM hướng đến mô hình Net Zero đầu tiên tại Việt Nam

Sáng 28-10, Ban Quản lý Khu Công nghệ cao TPHCM (SHTP) phối hợp Sở KH-CN TPHCM, Trung tâm Cách mạng công nghiệp lần thứ tư, Trường ĐH Công nghệ TPHCM (HUTECH) và Tập đoàn CMC tổ chức Hội nghị quốc tế - Ngày nghiên cứu và đổi mới sáng tạo vùng Đông Nam Bộ với chủ đề “Các công nghệ chiến lược thúc đẩy phát triển công nghiệp bền vững”.

In his opening remarks, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Ky Phung, Head of the Management Board of Saigon Hi-Tech Park, expressed his hope that the conference would disseminate the spirit of innovation, connect the wisdom and resources from domestic and international partners, and thereby turn challenges into opportunities to build the Hi-Tech Park into a model for sustainable development.

During the conference, speakers discussed and shared strategic technological solutions in the fields of renewable energy, artificial intelligence, biotechnology, new materials, green finance, and the circular economy. These are considered the crucial pillars that will help Vietnam build a low-carbon industry, achieve sustainable development, and integrate globally.

Speaking at the conference, Mr. Nguyen Van Tho, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee, emphasized: “The application of digital technology, artificial intelligence, biotechnology, and green solutions will promote sustainable industrial development, build renewable energy infrastructure, ensure effective waste management, and move towards a circular economy.”

Permanent Vice Chairman Nguyen Van Tho requested the SHTP management board to consider the opinions and initiatives of experts and scientists, and proactively advise the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee on effectively implementing the Dual Transformation scheme, aiming to build the Saigon Hi-Tech Park into the first Net Zero model nationwide.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Quoc Cuong, Deputy Head of the SHTP Management Board, stated that there are three strategic pillars for sustainable technology in the new era. Technology is the driving force; the connection between the state, businesses, institutes, universities, and the innovation community is the method; and the greatest goal is sustainability in production, investment, and regional development.

Parallel to the conference was an exhibition featuring 60 booths from enterprises, institutes, universities, and innovation centers in the fields of education, biotechnology, stem cells, and more. Also within the framework of the event, a competition titled “Innovative Ideas from Universities in the Southeast Region” took place, featuring 70 teams from 13 universities.

On the same day, the Ho Chi Minh City Biotechnology Center signed a strategic cooperation agreement with the Institute of Life Sciences (HUTECH University) and the Research Institute for Aquaculture II. This collaboration aims to form a network for research, incubation, and commercialization of biotechnology.
